The 20/50 Window

Bonjour!

Both boys started school just a few weeks ago. They are both doing a great job of adjusting to new schools and processes. 5th grade is a tough year as students are learning more responsibility and working much harder in preparation for middle school. Please pray for Luke as he is experiencing some growing pains in this regard. He also has chosen to take beginning band class and is learning to play the trumpet. We are so happy that he has made a great new friend for this new year, too. Matthew is working very hard in 8th grade and is enjoying his new school very much. He made the school's cross country team and had his first meet this past Saturday. With dozen of schools participating and about 120 varsity students competing, Matthew medaled in 12th place in his first ever race!! We are so proud of him. He also begins rugby this week. He is very excited about learning the game and getting to tackle and not just play "tag" rugby. Please pray for Matthew's safety in these new sports!

We are so thankful and excited to report that we have both started new jobs this last month!!! We are praising God for His provision of income, health insurance and a job that will go to Belgium with us!! Jeanne started her new job a few weeks ago and we are incredibly grateful for such a great company that believes in work/life balance and is so supportive of our move to Western Europe. God is providing about 50% of our needed funds for life in Belgium through this new job! Is that not AMAZING??? Another amazing thing is that Jeanne's work schedule will be about 4am-noon once we are in Belgium. This is important because she will be able to be involved in more ministry activities and also be better available to help the boys with schoolwork and just adjustments, in general, since she will work from home and be off before they get home from school. Only God could orchestrate things so perfectly!

In our journey to Belgium, this new job puts us in what we are calling...with much hope and excitement..."the 20/50 window". With just 20 more people each giving around $50 a month, we will have the support team necessary to carry out the work God has laid before us in Belgium. We know that some people will be able to give more and some will need to give less. That's okay! Any and all gifts are needed and appreciated, but calling this the "20/50 window" helps us get our minds around just how close we are to actually getting on that plane!! We are trusting God to move and work out all the details for us and for those He calls to join in this work through their giving. God is able and faithful to do much more than we can imagine!! And His timing is always perfect!!! Please pray for us as He continues to grow us in this season of waiting. Pray we would keep our eyes focused on Him and not the details.
