After the school week was over, they set to work repainting our front gate. Here is the before picture....
....and after. We have to mix our own paint colors here, so it was tricky getting the color to come out. This is not the shade of green they were shooting for, but it still turned out okay.
We miss a lot of things about the States. Grilled cheese and tomato soup is one of them. We make due with what bread we have here, but it's not the greatest....and far from Nature's Own (my personal favorite). But it's rather challenging to replicate our favorite grilled cheese sandwich soup.

So Rick decided last week to try and make some tomato basil soup out of this.
First tastes brought about some sour faces. But that didn't stop my man. They pull out the PH testing kit we brought with us and tested their concoction. The acidity levels must have been off the stick. So they added some baking soda and voila!.....tomato basil soup fit for a king....well, maybe we won't go that far....but it was finally good enough to eat with their grilled cheese sandwiches.
Who but my honey could turn dinner time into a science experiment? And THAT is just one of many, many reasons why I personally think he's Dad of the Year!
