My guy leaves to do some discipling & visiting at a village and comes home with these beauties for me.
The papayas are from our friend William's family. And the cola nut is from the village Imam.
This lovely bird is a gift from Rick's blacksmith friend.
While they may not look like much to the untrained eye, let me assure you of their importance. These gifts represent three different relationships my awesome husband is cultivating in one very "hard" but open village. So proud of him and the work he is doing!!
Now the question is.....
Do we keep the chicken or eat the chicken?

You really don't want to start making a chicken a pet...and then...love the postings and all!!!!
Looks like plucking chickens may be in your future...
You make me smile ...
It is wonderful that Rick is receiving "gifts". How exciting and rewarding. The chicken, though, I think was given to you to eat. But maybe you can "fatten it up" just a bit and then do "the deed". But whatever you do, if you haven't already consumed it by the time you read this, DO NOT give it a name ... It will be much more difficult to kill it and eat it when you're looking down at "Henry" or "Gladys". =) Truly enjoy the gifts!!
